Equity & Equality

Equality and equality are both crucial to the success of all education legislation and provision. At a base level, though they appear to be similar, equity and equality are vastly different. Equity is what enables students to achieve equality. Equality in education allows each student to have access to the same resources and opportunities. This refers to everything from school funding and classroom resources, to teacher attention. Our virtual tutor, Maths-Whizz, supports teachers, democratising individualised tutoring and allowing them to strive for equity in the classroom; that is, providing the resources individual students need to achieve equality.
